Catalina is 0-10 against Tanque Verde since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Catalina Trojans will be playing at home against the Tanque Verde Hawks at 5:30 p.m. Catalina is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home.
Catalina suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. They were outmatched by Thatcher on the road and fell 74-6. Catalina has not had much luck with Thatcher recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Meanwhile, Tanque Verde was able to grind out a solid victory over St. Augustine Catholic on Thursday, taking the game 44-37. 44 seems to be a good number for Tanque Verde as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Catalina has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost ten of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-13 record this season. As for Tanque Verde, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-11.
Catalina took a serious blow against Tanque Verde in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 53-25. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Catalina was down 38-7.
