Baseline recap Oct. 30, 2012
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Glendora, who took down 206th ranked Glendora, 21-14.
Upland extended the longest winning streak in Baseline this week by beating Alta Loma, 49-7. The victory was the ninth in a row for the Highlanders/Scots.
Upland's dynamic duo of Nate Romine and Alex Olivas proved tough for the Braves to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Romine threw for 217 yards and Olivas had 51 yards receiving. Russell Boucher helped Upland's passing attack out by catching one ball for 48 yards.
Marcellus Hunter was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 79 yards on 16 carries as Alta Loma beat Alta Loma. Donovan Walton also contributed to the rushing game with 20 yards on the ground.
6-foot-0 quarterback Romine of the Highlanders/Scots is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1712. He has also thrown 11 touchdowns. On the ground, the Tartans' Cade Lindsay has rushed for 1280 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Jordan Villamin. The Etiwanda star has 34 catches for 573 yards.
A big matchup in Baseline this week will be when Upland takes on Etiwanda. As it stands, the Highlanders/Scots are in first, while the Eagles are in fourth.
Upland took down Joe Szczepanski's team 49-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. Romine in the win.
