The Lincoln Lynx struggled with offensive rebounds on Friday (the Drummond Trojans had nine more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Lincoln was the victim of a tough 46-24 loss at the hands of Drummond. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Lincoln in their matchups with Drummond: they've now lost seven in a row.
Despite the defeat, Lincoln saw an underclassman step up: Jordyn Zarske scored six points along with four steals. Zarske hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games.
Leading Drummond to victory were Remington Cline and Kimber Parsons. Cline scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and four steals, while Parsons almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds. Cline has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 12 times she's played.
Lincoln's loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Drummond, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-3.
Lincoln won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Victor at 5:30 p.m. on February 3rd. Lincoln is facing Victor at the right time seeing as Victor is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Drummond, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Valley Christian at 12:00 p.m. on February 3rd. Hopefully Drummond focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Friday.
