The Lakeland Preparatory Lions''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight loss. They suffered a rough 32-8 defeat at the hands of Hamilton. Lakeland Preparatory was down 32-6 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Connor Jones and Brett Godwin certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Jones picked up 149 receiving yards and a touchdown, while Godwin threw for 214 yards and a touchdown.
Lakeland Preparatory's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 1-9. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 9.3 points per game. As for Hamilton, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-4.
Lakeland Preparatory will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Harding Academy at 7:00 p.m. Harding Academy has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since September 1. As for Hamilton, they will head out on the road to face off against Covington at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Covington is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
