The Mendenhall Tigers lost against the Louisville Wildcats back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Mendenhall suffered a rough 41-16 defeat at the hands of Louisville. While losing is never fun, Mendenhall can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi football rankings (they are ranked 58th, while Louisville is ranked third).
The critical scores for Louisville came from Jykevious Goss, Kamron Triplett, and Corxavier Coleman.
Louisville's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB nine times. The heavy lifting was done by TayQuon Mckinney and Travon McDonald who racked up five sacks between them.
Mendenhall's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Louisville, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.
Mendenhall will head out on the road to face off against Northeast Jones at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Northeast Jones will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each match than the last. As for Louisville, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Greenwood at 7:00 p.m. Greenwood is hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses.
