Allerina Martinez had a dynamite game for Corpus Christi Moody, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 16 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Martinez has scored all season. Raelene Avalos was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on 18 points and nine rebounds.
King's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Gianna Blanco, who scored 17 points, and Alaina Blanco who scored 17 points. It was the first time this season that Blanco scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Janiya Jenkins, who scored ten points.
Corpus Christi Moody's victory bumped their record up to 11-12. As for King, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-19.
Corpus Christi Moody will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Tigers at 12:00 p.m. Carroll is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for King, they will head out on the road to face off against the Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 last Tuesday.
