The Centreville Wildcats will venture away from home to challenge the Westfield Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Centreville's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
Centreville took a 41-point loss the last time they faced off against James Madison, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Wildcats sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 35-32 victory over the Warhawks on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Wildcats have posted since October 25, 2024.

Cardin Stover
| 10/17/25 vs James Madison | 170 |
| 10/10/25 @ Chantilly | 141 |
| 09/26/25 vs Washington-Liberty | 129 |
| 09/19/25 @ Mount Vernon | 131 |
| 09/12/25 vs Yorktown | 108 |
Centreville's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cardin Stover, who rushed for 170 yards and one TD on only 12 carries. Stover's rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 108 rushing yards. Another receiver making a difference was Jourdan Simpson, who gained 108 total yards.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Centreville was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 220 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.
Meanwhile, Westfield didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Oakton on Friday, but they still walked away with a 29-25 win. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia football rankings (they are ranked 30th, while the Cougars are ranked 147th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Centreville better focus on containing PJ Sutherland and Malachi Lee as the pair were huge in Westfield's win. Sutherland rushed for 113 yards and a pair of scores, while Lee gained 72 total yards.
Westfield didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Jermaine Webster, Lee, and Jacob Brubaker picked up one apiece.
Centreville pushed their record up to 5-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Westfield, their record is now 5-2.
Centreville couldn't quite get it done against Westfield in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 as they fell 27-19. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
