The Buckingham Charter Knights are taking a road trip to challenge the Valley Christian Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Buckingham Charter will be strutting in after a victory while Valley Christian will be coming in after a defeat.

Buckingham Charter won the last time they faced Cristo Rey and Addelyn Widmer did her part to make sure it happened again. The Knights were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Saints on Tuesday for which the team can thank Widmer, who had 13 kills, two blocks, and two aces. She has been hot for a while, having posted seven or more kills the last 11 times she's played.
The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-18, 25-10.
Buckingham Charter's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Justice Wright led the charge by getting nine assists and three aces. Those nine assists gave Wright a new career-high. Sophia Lozano was another key player, getting two aces and one block.
They weren't the only good servers: Buckingham Charter was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. They are 12-3 when they serve at least ten aces.
Fans were treated to a battle of the Lions on Tuesday. Valley Christian fell just short of Faith Christian by a score of 3-2. Valley Christian has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.
Valley Christian took Faith Christian into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking eight-point loss. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-22, 25-23, 22-25, 15-7.
Valley Christian's loss dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Buckingham Charter, their record now sits at 13-8.
Buckingham Charter was able to grind out a solid win over Valley Christian in their previous meeting back in September, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
