4A Region II District 9 recap Oct. 3, 2012
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Wakeland, who took down 57th ranked Wakeland, 21-17.
Frisco was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from 10th to seventh in 4A Region II District 9. The Raccoons beat the Wolverines 21-17 earlier in the week.
Prosper's dynamic duo of Davis Webb and Torii Hunter Jr proved tough for Heritage to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Webb threw for 286 yards and five touchdowns and Hunter Jr had 112 yards receiving. Zack English helped Prosper's passing attack out by catching three balls for 71 yards.
Lamar Jordan was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 142 yards on 17 carries as Centennial defeated the Coyotes. Chris Johnson also contributed to the rushing game with 65 yards on the ground.
On the ground, Little Elm's Keaun Kinner has rushed for 964 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Hunter Jr. The Prosper star has 21 catches for 443 yards.
The top two teams in 4A Region II District 9 will face off this week when first place Prosper takes on second place Centennial. Last week, Prosper topped Heritage, while the Titans beat the Lobos.
Little Elm's Keaun Kinner needs only 36 yards against Liberty next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season.
Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when Wakeland takes on Che Hendrix's team. Marty Secord's team's offense has recorded 198 points this season, making them No. 1 in the league, while the Coyotes have permitted only 146 on the year.
Kent Scott's team extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Heritage, 45-14. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Eagles.
