The Carolina Friends Quakers fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They walked away with a 46-38 victory over Cristo Rey Research Triangle on Friday. This was payback for Carolina Friends, who suffered a 81-51 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Despite the loss, Cristo Rey Research Triangle still got an impressive performance from Christian Gill, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 12 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Gill pulled down eight or more rebounds. Immanuel Holland was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with three steals.
Carolina Friends' victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-8. As for Cristo Rey Research Triangle, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-5.
Carolina Friends will be playing at home against Cresset Christian Academy at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cristo Rey Research Triangle, they will head out on the road to square off against Vance County at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
