The Wake County Academy HomeSchool Wolves had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Raleigh HomeSchool 48-45. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Wake County Academy HomeSchool also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2023.
Leading Wake County Academy HomeSchool to victory were Steph Murray and Reg Sanders. Murray dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds, while Sanders scored 15 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Murray continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Ian Maina, who scored ten points.
Wake County Academy HomeSchool's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Raleigh HomeSchool, they dropped their record down to 1-8 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wake County Academy HomeSchool's road trip will continue as they head out to face Berean Baptist Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Josiah Sanders and Zai Black. Raleigh HomeSchool will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Cary Academy at 7:00 p.m. on February 9th.
