This season hasn't been kind to the Oelrichs Tigers, who are still winless after their 12th game. They took a serious blow against Sioux County on Thursday, falling 55-24. Oelrichs was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2020.
Sioux County got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was William Skavdahl out in front who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds. Skavdahl is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down 13 or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Cy Hughson, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks.
Oelrichs dropped their record down to 0-12 with that loss, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 23.9 points per game. As for Sioux County, their victory bumped their record up to 4-14.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Oelrichs will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against the Moguls at 5:00 p.m. on February 5th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in South Dakota (Edgemont is ranked 154th, while the Tigers are ranked 157th). As for Sioux County, they will head out on the road to challenge the Rams on Tuesday.
