Volleyball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Mission Vista

Mission Vista had won three straight games and Elmer Catapang did his part to make it four on Tuesday. Everything went Mission Vista's way against the San Dieguito Academy Mustangs as they made off with a 3-0 victory thanks in part to Catapang, who had 17 digs and one assist. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 10.8 digs per game.

Mission Vista never let San Dieguito Academy on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-19, 27-25.

San Dieguito Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Trevor Anderson, who had 19 assists and 12 digs. He is on a roll when it comes to assists, as he's now posted 12 or more in each of the last 29 games he's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Robbie Hacker, who had 20 assists and seven digs.

Mission Vista now has a winning record of 12-11. As for San Dieguito Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-9 record this season.

Mission Vista will be playing at home against Canyon Crest Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Ravens will roll in looking for their 32nd straight win, something Mission Vista surely won't give up without a fight. As for San Dieguito Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against La Costa Canyon on the 17th.
