Tunstall hasn't had much luck against Randolph-Henry recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Trojans will host the Statesmen at 7:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Friday.
Tunstall lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Halifax County, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Wednesday's game. The Trojans put the hurt on the Comets with a sharp 13-7 win on Wednesday. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by six runs or more this season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Randolph-Henry). They blew past Prince Edward County 31-1 on Thursday. The Statesmen haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.
Kendall Snead made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Snead was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-5 with two runs and two RBI.
In other batting news, Lindsay Locke was incredible, firing off two home runs, five runs, and seven RBI while going 4-for-5. Those RBI marked the first that she has brought in this season. Glenna Vereen was another key player, getting on base in five of her six plate appearances with one home run, five runs, and three RBI.
Randolph-Henry kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.
The win was the third in a row for Tunstall, bringing their record up to 8-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Randolph-Henry, their win bumped their record up to 2-5.
Tunstall couldn't quite finish off Randolph-Henry when the teams last played back in May of 2024 and fell 5-3. Can the Trojans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
