Despite their defeat, Chaparral saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Demiyah Carter, who posted ten points along with five assists and three steals, was perhaps the best of all. Carter has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 11 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of D'Miya Spruill, who went 5-for-9 on her way to 10 points and six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Round Rock won against McNeil on Tuesday with 48 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Dragons took down Cedar Ridge 48-33. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Dragons' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 72nd, while the Raiders are ranked 259th).
The win made it two in a row for Round Rock and bumps their season record up to 13-3. As for Chaparral, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-4.
