The KIPP P Pride scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They walked away with an 88-78 victory over Rocky Mount Prep. The victory was some much needed relief for KIPP P as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
When it comes to explaining why Rocky Mount Prep lost, one person who can't be blamed is Qualique Jones. Despite the final result, he scored 27 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jones has scored all season. Kobe Davis was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
KIPP P's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-10. As for Rocky Mount Prep, they dropped their record down to 1-15 with that defeat, which was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. KIPP P will take on Northwest Halifax at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rocky Mount Prep, they will be playing at home against Weldon at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Rocky Mount Prep's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five contests.
