Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Marksville

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Marksville had no problem doing just that on Saturday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Port Barre Red Devils an 11-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won eight matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

The win (which was Marksville's third in a row) raised their record to 13-11. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Port Barre, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-12 record this season.

Marksville will venture away from home to square off against French Settlement at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Port Barre does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
