York-Adams I recap Oct. 23, 2012
Marquis Fells of Central York ran for the longest rushing play in York-Adams I this season against Dallastown last week. Fells scampered for 74 yards on the play and finished with 92 on the day as his team topped the Wildcats.
Spring Grove moved up to 109 from 152 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Rockets were able to make move up by defeating William Penn 50-24.
Dillon Thomas was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 160 yards on 20 carries as South Western lost to Central York. Dakotah Moses also contributed to the rushing game with 47 yards on the ground.
Corey Hartz put up the best numbers through the air as Brad Livingston's team bested Kevin Myers' team. He finished with three completions for 110 yards and two touchdowns. Hartz's favorite target this week was Sherief Sutton, who caught one pass for 71 yards.
Andrew Henry provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Wildcats lost to the Panthers. He completed 12 passes for 147 yards and one touchdown and also ran for 96 yards. Henry's favorite target this week was Lewis, who caught five passes for 90 yards.
Central York's Hartz and Darian Hampton have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading York-Adams I in both passing and receiving yards. Hartz has thrown for 1436 yards this season, while Hampton, a 6-foot-2 receiver, has 27 catches for 522 yards. Thomas from the Mustangs leads the league in rushing with 1071 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Spring Grove takes on Dallastown. Russ Stoner's team is currently in first, while the Wildcats are in fifth.
The Rockets extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Bearcats, 50-24. The victory was the fifth in a row for Spring Grove.
