Make it three blowout wins for the Poplar Indians this season. They blew past Culbertson 76-41 on the road. Given Poplar's advantage in MaxPreps' Montana basketball rankings (they are ranked 34th, while Culbertson is ranked 123rd), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Culbertson's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Bridger Salvevold, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and four steals, and Plenny Williams who scored nine points.
Poplar has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. As for Culbertson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-8.
Poplar on the road again on Thursday and play against Froid/Medicine Lake at 6:00 p.m. on January 25th. As for Culbertson, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Fairview at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
