Peabody-Burns (Peabody, Kan.) didn't let up as Saturday's game came to a close, scoring 14 in the fourth quarter to seal a 36-14 victory over
Lebo (Kan.).
After taking the lead on a
Clayton Philpott touchdown run in the second quarter, the Warriors were up 16-8 at the half.
Peabody-Burns grew its lead to 14 points entering the fourth quarter. PB scored once in the quarter on a touchdown run by
Braxton Kyle.
The Peabody school went into the matchup giving up only 14.8 points per game.
The Warriors also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 62-48.
The defeat comes as a step back for Lebo, who notched a 62-16 victory over Burlingame in its previous outing. The loss ended Lebo's two-game winning streak. The win brought Peabody-Burns' winning streak to four games.
