Darrion Johnson ran for two touchdowns and
Walter Thomas added two as well as
Brenham (Texas) beat Magnolia (Texas) 46-7 on Saturday.
The Cubs were up 29-0 at the half after taking the lead on a Thomas touchdown pass to
Tyler Watts in the first quarter.
Brenham expanded its lead to 43 points entering the fourth quarter. BHS scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown run by Johnson.
With the win the Cubs extended their winning streak to seven games. Brenham defeated the Rangers 35-14 last week.
The Bulldogs' Greg Solomon played well. He ran for one touchdown. His performance brought his touchdown total to three on the year.
BHS's most effective player was Thomas. The sophomore quarterback threw one touchdown. He has now scored seven touchdowns on the season.
Magnolia's lone touchdown came on a 2-yard run by Solomon in the fourth quarter.
The Cubs came into the game allowing 13.4 points per game. MHS's seven points were well below its season average of 15.1 per game.
Brenham also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 41-7.
Magnolia (1-7) will play a 4A Region III District 18 game against Willis next week, while Brenham (7-1) will take on Huntsville also in a 4A Region III District 18 game.
