The result was an unpleasant reminder to Seton Catholic Central of the 40-37 defeat they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.
When it comes to explaining why Seton Catholic Central lost, one person who can't be blamed is Aiden Pearl. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 16 points and 19 rebounds. That was a full 51.6% of Seton Catholic Central's points, marking the seventh time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Evan Waldron, who scored two points along with seven rebounds.
Seton Catholic Central's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Willsboro Central, their win bumped their record up to 4-5.

Willsboro Central's road trip will continue as they head out to face Boquet Valley at 6:30 p.m. on January 16th. Boquet Valley presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Willsboro Central in New York (Boquet Valley is ranked 262nd, while Willsboro Central is ranked 822nd).
