Last Monday, Cross Keys had to suffer through a rough 76-39 loss at the hands of the Pirates. Cross Keys has struggled against the Pirates recently, as their matchup on Monday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Cross Keys' defeat came about despite a quality game from Christian Holmes, who scored 17 points. That was a full 43.6% of Cross Keys' points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Geronimo Edwards was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Atlanta Jewish Academy's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They received a tough blow as they fell 66-52 to The Weber School.
Zac Agichtein put forth a good effort for the losing side as he dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 19 or more in the last six games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Edan Eyal, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds.
Cross Keys has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-16 record this season. As for Atlanta Jewish Academy, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-8.
Cross Keys couldn't quite finish off the Jaguar in their previous matchup last Tuesday and fell 30-28. Can Cross Keys avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
