Domingo Lumbreras and Jesse Rodriguez provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Crystal City. The longest such play in 3A Region IV District 29 this season, the connection resulted in 58 yards.
Carrizo Springs and the Javelinas played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Carrizo Springs eventually emerging with a 30-29 victory. Freddie Longoria ran for 208 yards in the win.
Devine's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Warhorses feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Tyler Cook has thrown for 412 yards and four touchdowns this season, while Pat Mares has 10 catches for 139 yards. Jordan Fraga leads the league in rushing with 1941 yards.
A big matchup in 3A Region IV District 29 this week will be when Devine takes on the Wildcats. As it stands, the Warhorses are in first, while Carrizo Springs is in fourth.
There should be lots of points scored when Devine and Eliseo Aguero's team face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Chad Quisenberry's team comes in having scored 322 this season, while the Wildcats have scored 156. The Warhorses scored 48 points last week as they beat Lytle.
