Aledo got a great performance from Luke Sandefur as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over 6.2 innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave Sandefur a new career-high.
At the plate, Dylan Duran was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Kyle Poindexter also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
Aledo was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Birdville only posted a batting average of .130.
Fans were treated to a battle of the Yellowjackets on Friday. Arlington Heights blew past Cleburne 10-0. The win continues a trend for Arlington Heights in their matchups with Cleburne: they've now won three in a row.
Mitchell Carpenter was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Bryson Tenorio, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Aledo is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Arlington Heights, their record now sits at 24-9-1.
