After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Mallard Creek, The West Mecklenburg Hawks were happy to have found some success on Friday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 50-12 victory over Harding University. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for West Mecklenburg's seven-point performance the matchup before.
West Mecklenburg's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Beady Waddell V led the charge by rushing for 132 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries. Waddell V is on a roll when it comes to solo tackles, as he's now made six or more in the last ten games he's played. Another player making a difference was Mark Foster Jr, who rushed for 77 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries.
When it comes to explaining why Harding University lost, one person who can't be blamed is Aj Jenkins. Despite the final result, he rushed for 141 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.8 yards per carry.
West Mecklenburg's win bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Harding University, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.
West Mecklenburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Harding University also has no future games currently scheduled.
