The West Florida Jaguars's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Sunlake Seahawks at 12:45 p.m. on December 29th. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around on Friday.
Last Wednesday, West Florida was the victim of a rough 65-43 loss at the hands of Camden County. While losing is never fun, West Florida can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 260th in Florida, while Camden County is ranked 41st in Georgia).
Despite the loss, West Florida saw an underclassman step up: Amani (AB) Bartholomew scored 19 points. Bartholomew scored a full 44.2% of West Florida's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Shania Beeks, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, after some red-hot offensive attacks in their last three contests, Sunlake finally came back down to earth on Wednesday. They had to suffer through a rough 57-24 loss at the hands of Menendez.
West Florida's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Sunlake, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.
