Their game last Friday wasn't at all kind to Wilbur-Creston, but their most recent matchup may have softened the blow. On Friday, they came out on top in a nail-biter against Davenport, sneaking past 16-14. Having pegged this as anyone's game, the MaxPreps state rankings were right on the nose. The game brought Wilbur-Creston to 6-2 and dropped Davenport to a mirror-image 2-6.
The teams are both focusing on improving their conference standings in their upcoming contests. Wilbur-Creston will stay at home next week against Mary Walker at 7:00 PM. Davenport will look to defend their home turf against Chewelah at 7:00 PM. Backed by four consecutive blowout victories, Chewelah are looking for someone to give them a challenge; hopefully Davenport will step up.
