The Brewster Bears will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Okanogan Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
After a string of four wins, Brewster's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They received a tough blow as they fell 78-62 to Tonasket. Brewster found out winning isn't easy when you don't work as a unit and post seven fewer assists than your opponent.
Brewster's defeat came about despite a quality game from Brady Wulf, who scored 22 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Wulf hasn't dropped below 21 points for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Karden Gebbers, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Okanogan was the victim of a tough 91-69 defeat at the hands of Lake Roosevelt on Tuesday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (60), Okanogan still had to take the loss.
Brewster's defeat dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Okanogan, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season.
Brewster didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Okanogan in their previous meeting last Tuesday, but they still walked away with a 52-48 victory. Does Brewster have another victory up their sleeve, or will Okanogan turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
