This season hasn't been kind to the Kentlake Falcons, who are still winless after their 11th matchup. They took a 68-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Jefferson on Friday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Josias Kpontont was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 12 rebounds for Jefferson. Those 12 rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Alex Le, who scored 19 points.
Kentlake bumped their record down to 0-11 with that loss, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. That rough patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.6 points per game. As for Jefferson, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 1-7.
Kentlake won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Prairie at 6:00 p.m. on January 6th. Prairie presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Kentlake in Washington (Prairie is ranked 149th, while Kentlake is ranked 350th). As for Jefferson, they will head out on the road to face off against Auburn Riverside at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Auburn Riverside is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.
