If the Wilde Lake Wildecats were riding high off their 69-47 takedown of the Reservoir 'Gators last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Wilde Lake took a 69-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of Urbana on Monday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Urbana to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kaden Swing, who scored 22 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Swing has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Sean Pyles, who scored 14 points.
Wilde Lake's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Urbana, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 7-6 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wilde Lake will face off against Marriotts Ridge at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Maryland (Marriotts Ridge is ranked 151st, while Wilde Lake is ranked 146th). Urbana won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Tuscarora at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Tuscarora is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
