Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Aledo Bearcats walked away with it. They claimed a resounding 43-7 victory over the Jackrabbits at home. Aledo's victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
Aledo's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hawk Patrick-Daniels, who rushed for 185 yards and two touchdowns. Patrick-Daniels also notched 25+ carries for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Davhon Keys, who rushed for 38 yards and four touchdowns.
Aledo pushed their record up to 15-0 with that win, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 34.15 points. As for Forney, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-2.
Aledo will take on Smithson Valley in a holiday battle at 7:00 p.m. on Friday at. Smithson Valley is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Forney does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
