Last Monday, Wayne Preparatory Academy didn't have too much trouble with Eastern Wayne at home as they won 70-56.
Isaiah Thomas continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 25 points along with five rebounds and five blocks. That makes it six consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Wayne Preparatory Academy's points. Another player making a difference was Christian Coles, who scored 15 points along with two steals.
Freedom Christian Academy suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They were the victim of a rough 88-65 loss at the hands of Trinity Christian. While losing is never fun, Freedom Christian Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 324th, while Trinity Christian is ranked 68th).
Karsten Swinney put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 31 points along with two steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 17 games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Haidyn Bell, who scored nine points along with nine rebounds and six assists.
Wayne Preparatory Academy's win bumped their record up to 9-15. As for Freedom Christian Academy, they dropped their record down to 11-12 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home.
Friday's contest will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Thomas and Swinney. Thomas has been dynamite this season: he has averaged 24.9 points, 4.4 steals, and 1.5 blocks. For his part, Swinney has averaged 27.7 points, 2.9 steals, and 5 assists.
