Basketball Recap: Briar Woods Piles Up the Points Against North Stafford

Briar Woods waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They breezed by the North Stafford Wolverines to the tune of 54-14. That 40 point margin sets a new team best for the Falcons this season.

Leading Briar Woods to victory were Nina Keltz and Tanisha Srinivas. Keltz went 6 of 8 en route to 13 points and eight steals, while Srinivas went 5 of 8 on her way to 13 points. With that strong performance, Keltz is now averaging an impressive 2.4 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Brianna Zaher, who posted six points and seven rebounds.

Briar Woods pushed their record up to 4-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.3 points per game. As for North Stafford, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Briar Woods will host Heritage at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Heritage will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Briar Woods surely won't give up without a fight. As for North Stafford, they will welcome Riverbend at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
