The Mountainair Mustangs lost against the Estancia Bears back in February of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Mountainair took a 49-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of Estancia. Mountainair has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Leading Estancia to victory were Josh Calhoon and Justin Rubio. Calhoon scored 12 points along with 5 rebounds and 5 steals, while Rubio dropped a double-double on 18 points and 15 rebounds. The game was Rubio's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Ayden Eaves, who scored 7 points along with 6 rebounds.
Mountainair's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Estancia, their win bumped their record up to 1-2.
Mountainair is on the road again on Thursday and play against Melrose at 7:00 p.m. on December 7th. As for Estancia, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Capitan at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
