The victory was all the more spectacular given Trinity Christian's disadvantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 246th, while St. Marys is ranked 74th).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Trinity Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Chayce Adams, who scored 25 points along with two steals. Adams has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last six times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Hartsock, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Trinity Christian is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. As for St. Marys, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.
Trinity Christian will head out on the road to square off against Notre Dame at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for St. Marys, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Ritchie County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
