The Beaver River Beavers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They fell 54-44 to Copenhagen. While losing is never fun, Beaver River can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 642nd, while Copenhagen is ranked 306th).
Samuel Carroll was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 15 rebounds for Copenhagen. The match was Carroll's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Caden Miller was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Beaver River's loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-7. As for Copenhagen, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-2.
Beaver River will face off against Sackets Harbor Central at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Copenhagen, they will be playing at home against Sandy Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
