Hibriten has been on the road for three straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Alexander Central Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
Hibriten pushed their score all the way to 55 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They suffered a tough 77-55 defeat at the hands of Watauga. While losing is never fun, Hibriten can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 74th, while Watauga is ranked tenth).
Meanwhile, Alexander Central earned a 48-38 win over South Caldwell on Friday. The win made it back-to-back wins for Alexander Central.
Alexander Central's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kirstyn Herman, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and eight steals. Herman hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Meredith Wike, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds.
Hibriten's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 15-6. As for Alexander Central, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 18-4.
