For Newark Academy, this counts as revenge for the 76-65 loss Weequahic walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2023.
Despite the defeat, Weequahic saw an underclassman step up: Tyhir Barlow scored 20 points. Another player making a difference was Bart Jordan, who scored nine points.
The win got Newark Academy back to even at 4-4. As for Weequahic, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.
