Northbrook has played every game this season on their home court, but they'll have to hit the road on Thursday. They will face off against the Porter Spartans at 12:00 p.m. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, Northbrook humbled Varsity Opponent with a 79-48 victory.
Among those leading the charge was Demetrius Holman, who scored 15 points along with 9 steals and 8 rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Brandon Dillard, who scored 14 points along with 6 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Porter had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three last Tuesday. They skirted past Caney Creek 37-34. Given Porter's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 390th, while Caney Creek is ranked 1023rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
The victory got Northbrook back to even at 2-2. As for Porter, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.
Northbrook came up short against Porter in their previous meeting back in December of 2020, falling 53-41. Can Northbrook avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
