The Oxford Hornets will take on the Henderson Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Oxford took a loss when they played away from home last Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They came out on top against Kennett by a score of 11-6. The win continues a trend for the Hornets in their matchups with the Blue Demons: they've now won eight in a row.

Kayden Baumgardner was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over six innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Oxford is 4-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 1-7 otherwise. Baumgardner was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Sam Stancil was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Landon Rozich was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Oxford was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .433. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Henderson sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 victory over Downingtown West on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Warriors have posted against the Whippets since April 2, 2022.
Shane Manuel tossed a big game, tossing 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Zach Ward, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Prior, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run.
Henderson has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Oxford, their win bumped their record up to 5-8.
Oxford suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Henderson in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Will the Hornets have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
