It was a good run, but the Wando Warriors unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 46-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of James Island. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Wando has scored all season.
Several Warriors players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Malaya Mazyck, who scored six points. Isabel Waite was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
It was another big night for Andrea Duncan, who scored 27 points for James Island. That makes it nine consecutive games in which Duncan has scored at least 25% of James Island's points. Another player making a difference was Alaina Graf, who scored seven points.
Wando's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for James Island, their win was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-2.
Wando won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against West Ashley at 7:00 p.m. on December 13th. James Island won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Ashley Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on December 13th. Ashley Ridge knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully James Island likes a good challenge.
