Basketball Recap: Marysville Piles Up the Points Against Wheatland

Marysville had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 43-point drubbing they dealt Wheatland on Friday. The Marysville Indians simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Wheatland Pirates 77-34. The Indians have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matches by 21 points or more this season.

Marysville got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jordan Brooks out in front who almost dropped a double-double with 15 points and nine rebounds. What's more, Brooks also posted a 86% field goal percentage, which is the highest he's achieved since back in November of 2024. Chevy Cadena was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Marysville is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 21-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.1 points over those games. As for Wheatland, their loss was their ninth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-21.

Coming up, Marysville will square off against Dixon at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Marysville has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 203 points over their last three games. Wheatland does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
