Wickliffe and Cardinal are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Wickliffe Blue Devils' homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Cardinal Huskies at 6:45 p.m. on February 13th. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around on Tuesday.
Wickliffe pushed their score all the way to 57 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were beaten by Crestwood 90-57. While losing is never fun, Wickliffe can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 720th, while Crestwood is ranked 187th).
Meanwhile, Cardinal's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a rough 66-35 loss at the hands of Berkshire. Cardinal was down 57-28 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Wickliffe has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight matches, which is still a better percentage than their 4-13 record this season. As for Cardinal, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-16.
Wickliffe beat Cardinal 69-61 in their previous meeting two weeks ago. Does Wickliffe have another victory up their sleeve, or will Cardinal turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
