Meanwhile, Layton faced Skyline in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Layton came out on top against Skyline by a score of 71-60 on Friday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Clearfield's loss dropped their record down to 3-1. As for Layton, their victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0.
