Geneva hasn't had much luck against Edgewood recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Eagles will take on the Warriors at 11:00 a.m. One thing working in Geneva's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three contests.
Geneva had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 13-run drubbing they dealt Brush on Thursday. The Eagles put the hurt on the Arcs with a sharp 17-4 victory. Considering the Eagles have won six matchups by more than eight runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Morgan Hunt made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Geneva got a massive performance out of Alyvia DeGroodt, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and three RBI. That's the most stolen bases DeGroodt has posted over her last ten games. Claire Cafaro was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one triple.
Geneva always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .526. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Brush only posted an OBP of .304.
Meanwhile, Edgewood didn't have quite enough to beat Maplewood on Thursday and fell 2-1.
Edgewood saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Haylee Rhodes, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
The win got Geneva back to even at 10-10. As for Edgewood, their loss dropped their record down to 16-3.
Saturday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Geneva hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .335. However, it's not like Edgewood struggles in that department as they've averaged .372. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Geneva suffered a grim 11-4 defeat to Edgewood when the teams last played back in April. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
