After five games on the road, Parklane Academy is heading back home. After both having extra time off, the Parklane Academy Pioneers and the Hillcrest Christian Cougars will dust off their jerseys to square off against one another at 6:00 p.m. on December 29th. Hopefully Parklane Academy is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Hillcrest Christian in Mississippi (Parklane Academy is ranked 80th, while Hillcrest Christian is ranked 257th).
Parklane Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 26 points or more this season. They really took it to Franklin County for the full four quarters, racking up a 61-26 win on the road. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 31-10.
Parklane Academy's win last Saturday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Halle Bennett, who scored 16 points. Zoe Alford was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Meanwhile, Hillcrest Christian was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on December 11th as they fell 59-54 to Mt. Salus Christian. Hillcrest Christian has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Parklane Academy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. As for Hillcrest Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-10.
