The Valiant Cross Academy Warriors came tearing into Tuesday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 63-55 win over Lee-Scott Academy. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
It was another big night for Deshawn Hall, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 15 rebounds. Hall is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of John Cosby, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Valiant Cross Academy is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season. As for Lee-Scott Academy, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 20-5.
Valiant Cross Academy will take on Macon-East Montgomery Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Macon-East Montgomery Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 320th, while Valiant Cross Academy is ranked 59th). As for Lee-Scott Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Glenwood at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Glenwood and Lee-Scott Academy are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
