After three games on the road, Dunellen is heading back home. They will take on the Metuchen Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Dunellen will be strutting in after a victory while Metuchen will be coming in after a defeat.
On Friday, Dunellen's game was all tied up 14-14 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They came out on top against Sayreville by a score of 40-30. Given Dunellen's advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 182nd, while Sayreville is ranked 383rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Dunellen found their leader in underclassman Wendy Woll, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Woll has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Chalecki, who scored four points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, after a string of six wins, Metuchen's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a serious blow against Monroe Township, falling 77-41.
Dunellen has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. As for Metuchen, their loss dropped their record down to 16-7.
