The Davis Darts will venture away from home to challenge the West Field Longhorns at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Davis' favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last six games.
West Field's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Wednesday: Davis hadn't allowed a single run the last four times they've hit the field. The Darts put the hurt on Bountiful with a sharp 10-0 win on Tuesday. Considering the Darts have won 18 contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Davis got a massive performance out of Norah Sunderland, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those four hits gave Sunderland a new career-high. Riley Jaques was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Davis was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .406 or higher in six consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, West Field fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Box Elder on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bees. That makes it the first time this season the Longhorns have let down their home crowd.
Brylee Leatherwood was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
Davis' victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games. As for West Field, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-6.
Both Davis and West Field just can't seem to miss. The Darts have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.9 hits per game. However, it's not like West Field struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.9 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance. Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
